REMOVE ERROR FROM CONSCIOUSNESS

From the August 1964 issue of The Christian Science Journal

CHRISTIAN SCIENCE teaches that God is Spirit and that man, His image and likeness, is spiritual. Reflecting God, man must be Godlike. Because God is perfect, man is perfect. Because God is Love, man is loving. Every quality that exists in God is reflected by His image, man.

There can be no quality or condition in man that is not true of God since, as Christian Science teaches, man can never be in any condition in which God has not been and is not now. Therefore the condition of man—his thought, his experience, his identity—must always be harmonious, for changeless harmony is the very essence of God's being.

The Christian Scientist who clearly understands these truths maintains himself in a state of harmony at all times and will see problems dissolve as he holds to the spiritual facts of his true existence. Mrs. Eddy admonishes us in Science and Health (p. 261), "Hold thought steadfastly to the enduring, the good, and the true, and you will bring these into your experience proportionably to their occupancy of your thoughts."
