THE VALUE OF EXPLORING NEW FRONTIERS

From the September 1964 issue of The Christian Science Journal

SEEKING something new indicates that there is need for improvement; that full satisfaction has not been obtained. Nothing short of spiritual perfection can ever wholly satisfy. That is why mankind are continually striving, consciously or unconsciously, to better their standards mentally and outwardly. The writer of Psalms soliloquized (17:15), "As for me, I will behold thy face in righteousness: I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with thy likeness," implying that he would not be satisfied until then.

One dictionary definition of "frontier" is, "An advance or not fully explored region, as of thought, sentiment, etc." Any new thought, problem, or trial, any need for a physical healing, may be said to be a new frontier, a new subject or condition to be examined and explored systematically until it is properly evaluated and the correct action is taken.

Since every discord, every sin, every ill, is basically and primarily mental, healing is possible for everyone by the correction of the erroneous thoughts that produce such phenomena. Christian Science heals every ill by correcting the false belief, that is, by replacing it with the spiritual fact. And the physical condition is corrected simultaneously with the disappearance of the false belief from consciousness.
