My previous testimony appeared in the Journal, October, 1949, and I feel the time has come to testify once more to the healing power of Christian Science. The continued blessing of membership in The Mother Church and a branch church, together with yearly association meetings, is a source of great joy.
My wife and I were able to attend the Annual Meeting of The Mother Church in June, 1964. I shall always be most grateful for this experience. The grandeur of The Mother Church itself, the inspiration gained from the services and meetings we attended, together with visits we made to many of the places of interest connected with Mrs. Eddy's wonderful discovery, which has benefited mankind, is something we shall always cherish.
I am grateful for protection I experienced when I was involved in two road accidents and for the effective treatment given by a Christian Science practitioner. As a result of the first accident the machine I was riding was damaged beyond repair. I am grateful for the prompt, kind attention of the ambulance crew who attended me and took me to my home instead of to the hospital. The doctor sent to examine me consented to my having Christian Science treatment and left me after a brief examination. One of my legs was bruised and swollen, and the ankle was twisted and very painful. Having the prayerful work of the practitioner, I was able to return to work the following day, and within a week my leg and ankle were normal.
It took some time before the fear of riding again was overcome, and my fear was increased when, after a week of using my new machine, I was involved in a second mishap. I sustained no injury, and there was little damage to the machine, but the collision increased my fear of riding. The practitioner continued to support me with prayer, and when a sense of self-pity and condemnation of the other person involved in the accident were wiped out of my thinking, the healing was complete. When I fully realized that no accident had ever occurred in God's spiritual universe, I was able to ride happily again.
During these experiences I was asked by the practitioner to study Psalm 121, and this helped me tremendously. Although very grateful for the physical healing and protection during these experiences, I am more grateful for gaining a firmer understanding of God's harmonious government of the universe.
I experienced a healing of an infected finger through my own understanding of Christian Science. For a day or so the swelling and pain were severe. I spent some time studying and praying, but the condition grew worse. I then realized that a complete change of thought had to take place. Wrong thinking and talking about a fellow worker, as well as frustration and self-pity, had to be overcome. I sat quietly for half an hour rejoicing in God's great love for all His children. All the resentment and criticism left, and my consciousness was filled with love and compassion toward my fellow worker. Suddenly the swelling went down, and the sore opened and suppurated. I went to bed filled with love for God and our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy. Next morning the finger was perfectly normal.
I am grateful for continued supply, for loving companionship in the home, and for the privilege of work in a branch church. I am continually blessed through the daily study of the Lesson-Sermon and the Christian Science periodicals. My desire is to continue living a better life by expressing in daily deeds Mrs. Eddy's injunction in The First Church of Christ, Scientist, and Miscellany (p. 120), "Bear with me the burden of discovery and share with me the bliss of seeing the risen Christ, God's spiritual idea that takes away all sin, disease, and death, and gives to soul its native freedom."

I wish to verify my husband's testimony and to express gratitude for all the blessings that have come to us.
I am grateful to have attended the Christian Science Sunday School for three years and now to be able to teach. We shall never forget our wonderful visit to The Mother Church the year we attended the Annual Meeting. I am grateful for a very happy homelife, for the help from a sincere practitioner, and for Mrs. Eddy for giving us Christian Science.
