In establishing her system of scientific Mind-healing, Mrs. Eddy developed a method of orderly, systematic argument, whereby the specific claims of mortal mind are dealt with through the utilization of specific spiritual truths.
This metaphysical argument is one of the most valuable aids set forth in the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, for attaining spiritual power. It includes, of necessity, the affirmation of that which is divinely true and real and the denial of that which is untrue and unreal. This method unites reason to revelation and helps to bring "the Spirit of truth,"John 14:17; which Christ Jesus designated as the Comforter.
Mrs. Eddy discovered that since mankind in general have not reached the Christly understanding that Jesus expressed it is essential to handle error—to deny it understandingly, vigorously, and with authority.
