When I was in my early teens, I was introduced to Christian Science by the instantaneous healing of my cousin, who had for several years suffered severe pains in his legs caused by a condition which no doctor was able to help. In the more than twenty-five years since then Christian Science has more than lived up to its initial promise. There have been many healings and demonstrations of protection and guidance that I have experienced and witnessed. Not a day goes by without my being grateful for having been led to this remarkable religion.
During my school years Christian Science was invaluable to me. In college I had to learn to separate the chaff from the wheat in what I was learning, and as soon as I did this, I received excellent grades in all my studies.
As there was much fear and a sense of limitation to be overcome, my spiritual progress was relatively slow until I was elected First Reader of the branch church of which I am a member. Although I felt completely unready for this work, I prayed for guidance and accepted the position. How grateful I am that I did! The spiritual growth and blessings resulting from this service were boundless. One of the greatest blessings of all, and a continuing one, was class instruction.
