The Annual Meeting of The Mother Church, held June 3, had for its theme the Biblical exhortation, "Let us rise up and build" (Neh. 2:18). Adjacent construction work for the new Christian Science Church Center and demolition preparatory to further construction bore witness to the appropriateness of this theme. The large gathering, which had assembled from all sections of the United States and from many other countries, heard reports from Church officers, department heads, and representatives of the worldwide Christian Science Field. Selected incidents of Christian Science healing, illustrating the continuing effectiveness of this beneficent ministry, were also read. All attending the Annual Meeting left for home with a renewed awareness of their own opportunities to play an active role in the great work for humanity initiated by Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science.
