When Christian Science was brought to my attention over twenty-five years ago, I was suffering from a stomach complaint that was supposed to be hereditary. At that time I had decorators working in the house, and one of the men, noticing how ill I appeared, brought a copy of Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy and asked me to read it. I had no idea that the book healed, but I commenced reading it and became very interested because it opened up the Scriptures in a most wonderful way.
My father and mother were visiting me at the time, and my father remarked that he thought the book seemed to be bringing out the good in me. My mother also began to read Science and Health. This went on for about three weeks. One morning when I was dressing my little boy, who had to wear a surgical belt for a navel rupture, I found to my surprise that there was no need for the belt. The rupture was healed.
I went to my mother's room to tell her the good news and found her dressing without a surgical appliance she had worn for more than fifteen years for kidney trouble. She was entirely healed. As I was speaking, I looked down at my wrist and found that a large lump caused by a sprain had disappeared.
