My family and I have enjoyed the healing power of Christian Science for many years. I came into Science as a young girl after witnessing my mother's healing of a severe nervous breakdown.
My husband is a devoted student of this Science, and after our marriage we had the wonderful opportunity of having class instruction together. We had been given a sum of money for a wedding gift and had at first planned to use it in furnishing our home; however, it came to both of us to "seek . . . first the kingdom of God" (Matt. 6:33), and we decided to apply for class instruction. The firm foundation of truth we received from it has been the basis for our family life and the rearing of our four children.
When our older boy was about three years old, we were doing some errands in the car one day. I opened the door to put the child inside and shut it quite firmly on one of his hands. He began to scream, and I released his hand the moment I realized what had happened. We were tempted only for a moment to examine the hand.
