It is with a deep sense of gratitude to God for leading me into Christian Science that I submit this testimony in the hope that it will help others see that "with God all things are possible" (Matt. 19:26).
I did not come into Christian Science for a physical healing for myself, although I have had many since I began to study. My mother had been suffering for many years with a painful ear condition and had been to the best doctors and specialists in that field but could not be healed. One day when she was going through a terrible siege, a woman came into my place of business. Seeing my worried look, she asked what the trouble was. After I told her, she asked me why I did not try prayer. I considered this a most unusual remark, even though we were God-loving people and had always turned to God to meet our every need. However, after discussing this further she told me that she was a Christian Scientist and explained briefly how Christian Scientists work out their problems.
I asked my mother if she was willing to try Christian Science treatment. She was most willing to try anything to get relief. I sought out a Christian Science practitioner that same day and arranged an appointment. If there was any doubt in my mind as to what the teachings of Christian Science were, it was cleared up immediately when the practitioner explained to me how healings come from God and also how it is God"s will for us to be happy and healthy. I conveyed all this to my mother, and we both studied the textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. The healing was not a quick one as there was much to be corrected; but it has been a permanent one, and we are most grateful.
