"Nothing can I lack"

From the March 1969 issue of The Christian Science Journal

The first chapter of Genesis gives the true record of the creation of man as God's likeness, the perfect handiwork of the eternal and only creator, and this record is a vivid history of man's changeless status of spiritual harmony, dominion, and completeness. Many people can testify to the fact that as they have come to understand this true Scriptural concept of being and have accepted it for themselves, discord in their experience has been dissipated and they have demonstrated the availability of spiritual sustenance.

Christian Science teaches that God, Spirit, is divine Mind and that His resources are limitless and sufficient for all. Thus the student of this scientific Christianity understands that the quiet, spiritually attentive consciousness is responsive to the specific right idea that is being imparted by the divine Mind and meets every human need.

This Science explains that spiritual understanding reflects true substance and that this understanding expresses the forever unfoldment of God, the divine Mind, revealing Himself through His spiritual ideas. Mrs. Eddy assures us, "God gives you His spiritual ideas, and in turn, they give you daily supplies."Miscellaneous Writings, p. 307 When one gives up his concept of substance as material and recognizes Mind, Spirit, as the source of all true substance and man as God's reflection, he demonstrates spiritual sufficiency in all areas of his experience.
