The theme of survival dominates the Bible from the story in Genesis of Noah, described as surviving a great flood through his obedience to God, to the prophecy in Revelation of the two witnesses whose "dead bodies" would "lie in the street of the great city," but who, "after three days and an half . . ., stood upon their feet," for "the Spirit of life from God entered into them." Then they were taken into heaven and "great voices" proclaimed, "The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ."Rev. 11:8, 11, 15;
What makes survival possible? Always, in any age, it is spiritual power. Today many people question the possibility that the race can survive atomic power, air and water pollution, lawlessness, military, economic, or political aggression. We need to understand the same spiritual power that was demonstrated in Bible times if we would survive the flood of material threats that assail us now. We can learn from the Scriptures how to do this. Christian Science interprets the Scriptures, and it continues the record of divine might.
