Christian Science has met all my needs

From the May 1970 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Christian Science has met all my needs. Things that seemed impossible to accomplish have been worked out through the application of Christian Science, for, as Jesus said (Matt. 19:26), "With God all things are possible."

After several years of childless marriage, my husband and I applied for and subsequently adopted a beautiful baby boy from a local adoption agency. At the time there were about a hundred applications on file, and few adoptable babies were available. We applied after earnestly praying about it. In our prayerful preparation for taking this step we were not concerned with the human parentage of a child. We were endeavoring to see that children are divine ideas and that God is, in reality, the only creator or parent.

Unlimited thinking opened up unlimited possibilities for us. We were willing not to outline as to sex, age, appearance, race, IQ, and so on but to accept any child that seemed right to us after prayerful consideration. At an interview to judge our reactions the case worker told us of several children soon to be placed for adoption. Later, in conversation, my husband and I discovered that one of these children, a baby boy, persistently came to the thoughts of us both, and we felt that this was the child for us. But since the house we were building was not quite finished, we were not immediately ready to take him.
