Some days after our son was born in our native Switzerland, I became suddenly ill and was delirious for five days. The immediate members of my family were frightened and, while I was in this state, called a physician. No medicine was given. Because I had a high fever, everyone expected that I would pass on. A dear friend, who is a Christian Science practitioner, was called.
On the fifth afternoon the beautiful hymn in the Christian Science Hymnal suddenly came clearly to my thought. The last verse was especially meaningful to me (No. 123):
