"I shall not die, but live"

From the October 1971 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Spiritual advancement alone is liberating. When mortals are encumbered by sickness, discordant relationships, or fear of failure, they may be tempted to believe that death would be a release. If such a suggestion ever knocks at the door of our thinking, we can begin freer living at once by reflecting God, Life, to a greater degree. We can reach out to our Father-Mother God in deep and earnest prayer, desiring to reflect true Life. We'll immediately begin to find a greater sense of peace and love.

God is Life. God gives us our individual life, our particular consciousness of being, including all our intelligence, vitality, and function. Evil conditions are unreal, mortal concepts, as Christian Science enables us to prove. They are no part of our real spiritual existence. Evil does not touch, and therefore cannot end, the life God provides. Our life in Life is eternal and exists forever. Our immortal life existed before our human birth and will continue after death. Nothing on earth can cause our true being to diminish or to end. Our life in Life is constantly full and exhilarating. Divine Mind is the origin of all real motives and actions. No physical force can even claim to slow down the inexhaustible energies of Spirit or impair the perpetual perfection of Soul.

Mrs. Eddy stirringly writes: "Man, governed by immortal Mind, is always beautiful and grand. Each succeeding year unfolds wisdom, beauty, and holiness." She continues: "Life is eternal. We should find this out, and begin the demonstration thereof. Life and goodness are immortal. Let us then shape our views of existence into loveliness, freshness, and continuity, rather than into age and blight."Science and Health, p. 246;
