A few short years ago I had no knowledge whatever of Christian Science. While my wife had attended the Christian Science Sunday School as a child, the subject was never mentioned or discussed in almost eight years of marriage.
Vainly seeking a cure in medicine for a physical condition which had become progressively most alarming, my wife sought out her books, the King James Bible and Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, and turned to God for healing. With the help of loving parents and Christian Science practitioners her healing came. Not only was the physical condition cured, but marked changes of character and outlook were apparent.
At this time I still knew very little of this healing religion, but I was deeply grateful for my wife's recovery. I didn't attend church with my wife at this time, but in the new peace and calmness which filled our home I found that I had without effort stopped smoking. This had been a persistent habit. Life for the two of us was beginning to have more meaning.
