In Unity of Good Mrs. Eddy writes (p. 21): "If we observe our mental processes, we shall find that we are perpetually arguing with ourselves; yet each mortal is not two personalities, but one." A healing I had some time ago exemplifies this clearly.
In running up a flight of stairs from the basement, I turned quickly to switch off the light and in doing so lost my balance. I found myself on the cellar floor. The first suggestion was, "You have fractured your skull." The answer was immediate, "No, there are no accidents in God's kingdom." Then the suggestion came, "But you injured your spine when it struck the stair."
"No, that is not true," was the reply. By this time a member of the family arrived to help me. "Can you get up?" was the question. "Oh, yes," I answered. I was helped up the stairs and requested to lie on a couch.
