Cornerstone ceremony

From the July 1972 issue of The Christian Science Journal

In a quiet, almost unnoticed, ceremony attended by only a handful of church officials, a small metal box was placed in the cornerstone of the new Administration Building at the Christian Science Center.

Especially built and sealed to preserve its contents for hundreds of years, the box contains a Bible, latest editions of all of Mary Baker Eddy's published writings, and current issues of the periodicals.

Similar sets of books had been placed in both the Original Edifice of The Mother Church in 1894 and its Extension in 1904.
