Prediction plays an important part in the fabric of our existence. "There's bound to be delay," someone says, or, "He's sure to succeed," or, "This happiness won't last." Do we go along unthinkingly with every prediction we hear? Or do we assess it by some standard that determines its validity? What does Christian Science teach us about true prediction?
To understand prediction in the light of divine Science, we need to see it both from the absolute and from the relative point of view. In the absolute truth of being, God gives flawless good to His creation. In reality, virtue is predictable, intelligence and perspicacity certain, spiritual strength inevitable. Man in God's image is never the victim of negative prognostications. He knows invariable love and immutable peace. His individual destiny is God-controlled— inviolable.
Christian Science teaches that God predestines harmony, plans and carries out spiritual perfection. God's purpose for His creation is unerring, His plan impeccable. Mrs. Eddy states with unmistakable clarity, "What God knows, He also predestinates; and it must be fulfilled."No and Yes, p. 37;
