Christian Science was brought to my...

From the December 1973 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Christian Science was brought to my attention three times before I accepted it. A lovely little girl invited me to visit her Sunday School when I was a youngster. I was a member of an orthodox Jewish family and rejected the invitation.

Ten years later, at a time of great need, someone suggested I try Christian Science to help my younger sister, who was suffering with a severe case of Saint Vitus's dance. This condition had persisted for a number of years, depriving her of regular school attendance and all the normal childhood activities.

My sister and I visited a Christian Science practitioner once, and read the textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, for about a week. The Saint Vitus's dance faded out and never returned. We did not understand what brought about the healing. We thought it might have come at that time anyway, so we drifted away from study.
