A popular poet has envisioned a new sort of lullaby that would begin with love, end with love, and have nothing but love in between. A New Lullabye by Rod McKuen;
The effective Christian Science Sunday School is permeated with love from start to finish. For teachers, other workers, and the students themselves, it's an activity of love, an activity continually expanding into a deeper, more spiritual affection. The joy of Sunday School work comes from learning to love more, and all share this privilege equally. Love is the key element in Sunday School work.
Active reflection of God, Love, along with prayerful acknowledgment of His power, brings young people to the Sunday School and keeps them coming back week by week. Workers can realize that divine Love, far more irresistible than any material pursuit or pleasure, shepherds the young and guides them to the Sunday School door. How strengthening it is to know that every student has been sent by divine Love! The workers' job is to express more of this Love, which nourishes and encircles all. Mary Baker Eddy writes: "There is but one real attraction, that of Spirit. The pointing of the needle to the pole symbolizes this all-embracing power or the attraction of God, divine Mind."
