Paving Another's Road to Membership

Experiencing the blessings of membership and service to the world in a Church of Christ, Scientist, impels members to have others share in these blessings. How does one fulfill the desire to have others find the Science that reveals one's true, spiritual heritage and take part in the human institution that forwards the universal acceptance of this understanding? One can begin with prayerful, scientific reasoning in his own thought. Gaining a higher concept of the spiritual idea of Church brings into our human organizations the light by which others can more clearly see the path to healing and to membership.

In her definition of "Church" in Science and Health Mary Baker Eddy gives as its spiritual meaning, "The structure of Truth and Love; whatever rests upon and proceeds from divine Principle." Science and Health, p. 583;

The spiritual idea Church exists in the divine Mind, where it is unhampered and uncontaminated by human misconceptions. Its flawless oneness precludes division into many creeds. God is holding this idea under His laws of absolute perfection. Its light is bright and constant, never dimmed by selfishness, pride, or envy. St. John glimpsed this absolute state of purity when he wrote of the "new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven," saying that "there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth...or maketh a lie." Rev. 21:2, 27;
