The New Education

From the December 1973 issue of The Christian Science Journal

In the allness and eternality of Mind, God, all that can be known is already known, all that has to happen is already happening. As these divine facts begin to take hold of us, they bring a new concept of education.

Through Christian Science we come to understand God as divine Principle and Mind and learn of the entirely spiritual character of man, God's expression. The infinitude of God and man is the premise of Christian Science education, whether instruction in classes (as Mrs. Eddy provides for it in the Manual of The Mother Church) or self-education. In the educational system of Christian Science both ways are highly important

The new education starts to be active on our behalf the moment we begin to see that the perceptions of the corporeal senses are misinformed and that the realities of true being come to us through spiritual sense, which gives us the intuitive ability to take a mental position with God and outside mortal selfhood. This not only brings us a new educational method but education that is itself new in content, because no longer comprised of material knowledge.
