"God's problems"

From the March 1973 issue of The Christian Science Journal

We sometimes refer to disease or lack or discord as a problem, but in her writings Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, seldom uses the word "problem" in a negative sense. The problem to which she most frequently refers is the problem of being. She says, "Divine Life, Truth, Love is the basic Principle of all Science, it solves the problem of being; and nothing that worketh ill can enter into the solution of God's problems."The First Church of Christ, Scientist, and Miscellany, p. 348;

What are God's problems? Are they problems of error? Are they burdensome taskmasters, obstacles in our pathway? Are they to be dreaded and avoided if possible?

An able mathematician does not regard a problem in mathematics as a discord or calamity. He does not regard it as being toilsome, burdensome, to be avoided if possible, or possibly as the expression of a hostile intelligence out to attack and defeat him. Instead, he sees that the solving of mathematical problems fulfills his purpose, proving his usefulness and giving him satisfaction.
