Outreach That Heals

From the June 1973 issue of The Christian Science Journal

This is a great age of human goodness. Everywhere men reach out to their fellow-men. People want to help other people.

And this is natural. Men want to share the goodness they have felt in their own lives. They yearn to give, and this yearning is prayer. All real outreach begins here, in prayer from the heart.

Hand in hand with the desire to help is the substance of the good we give, whatever the scope of our giving. Christian Science teaches that all good is from God. It demonstrates how the good that is God manifests itself in the lives of all men, everywhere. True outreach necessarily includes both the yearning to give and that vision of God's goodness which brings permanency to the good in human lives.
