Physical problems have never caused me to be discouraged or dismayed. I have recognized them as challenges forcing me to go higher and pursue the study of Christian Science in greater depth when I might have been content with things as they were. Most important of all, however, I have learned through them to know God better and have proved the truth of Mrs. Eddy's words: "Each successive stage of experience unfolds new views of divine goodness and love" (Science and Health, p. 66).
There have been many physical healings through the years, and I would like to share a few that have stood as mileposts along the way.
One of the healings that established me firmly in the Truth occurred when I was pregnant and threatened with a miscarriage. I worked most earnestly with a Christian Science practitioner, for I wanted this child so very much.
