In Hebrews we read, "Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need." Heb. 4:16; What a glorious challenge for us to express genuine confidence and assurance—to be spiritually bold!
Just what is spiritual boldness? We might say that it includes, among other things, standing for spiritual truth and resisting material discord, or error, giving a loving rebuke when needed, loving our enemies.
Spiritual boldness has no element of human bravado. Those who practice it are always modest and humble, never conceited or boastful. It is the expression of moral rather than animal courage. It is not the exercise of human will but a yielding to God's will.
