The teachings of Christian Science first came to my attention when through the application of this Science my mother was healed of a difficulty she had been suffering from for many years. The permanency of her healing was proved because, to the time of her passing thirty-three years later, she remained free of the illness.
After this healing I started to study Christian Science for myself, and although at the beginning of my study of Science I was working in a hospital as a nurse, handling material remedies, never having been taught otherwise, I could accept this Science immediately.
I look back in great gratitude on the many healings and the help I have experienced through this Science since then. With the aid of the textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, I have learned to know the Bible as a daily support. I have proved that (Ps. 46:1) "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble."
