For five generations Christian Science has blessed our family. We have had many healings. Membership and work in a branch Church of Christ, Scientist, have brought the greatest growth and progress.
On one occasion when our family was facing a financial need, we were asked to attend a building meeting in our branch church. My husband and I were already serving on several committees and had a very active life in the community. It seemed the last straw to have to go to this meeting and to give up some other activity, but love for church prevailed. It was brought out at the meeting that the only debt we owe is to love one another, and that in fulfilling this obligation our human needs would be met. When we really worked with this thought and endeavored to love consistently, a fine business offer came to my husband, which has given him a lifetime of productive and remunerative activity.
One of the outstanding healings in our family occurred when our daughter was fifteen. She fell at a skating party. The result was concussion, gashes on her face, and a broken nose. Immediate prayerful treatment from a Christian Science practitioner was given and was a continuing source of comfort and support. Through our steadfast trust and reliance on the spiritual understanding of man made and maintained by an infinitely good Father-Mother God, and our refusal to accept sense testimony, the pain and concussion were healed and the gashes closed and healed.
