Love has no enemies

Have you ever watched a bird strike at the reflection of himself in a windowpane or in the shiny hubcap of a car? The bird is convinced that he is fighting off an invader of his territory, a potential enemy, when all the time it is only himself he sees.

Aren't we sometimes just as gullible when we accept the deceitful testimony of the material senses?

One of the basic teachings of Christ Jesus is that a man should love his enemies. "But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you." Matt. 5:44; And, "Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect." v. 48;
