Our neighbor shot our dog with a shotgun at close range, and he had apparently intended to kill the dog. Our first thoughts about this person were very wrong—they were of hate and revenge. We realized then that the true healing need was a change in our thought about this neighbor.
I read to the children from Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, about man in God's image. The neighbor was not held in thought to be a violent man. When we reversed the evidence and spiritualized our thought, we could see him in his true nature as God's perfect idea.
