Since I learned of Christian Science ten years ago, here in Africa, the blessings that have come to me are so numerous and rich it would take many pages to recount them. I have seen abundant proof of this promise from the Bible (Mal. 3:10): "Prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it." This Science, when understood, gives us the tools to heal not only ourselves but the world.
Above all, my thankfulness is unbounded for having discovered the healing power of gratitude and praise. Truly, I believe there is no greater spiritual power in the world than gratitude, because in the face of what seems to be an insurmountable difficulty gratitude acknowledges the omnipotence of God as All-in-all.
For many years, I complained because my life seemed just one long succession of trials and challenges. Then slowly, I began to see that God has nothing but good for all His creation. I learned that no matter what circumstances we find ourselves in, we will always be blessed if we place our trust in God. As Paul puts it (Rom. 8:28), "All things work together for good to them that love God." The toughest trials may potentially bring the greatest blessings.
