My heart overflows in praise to God. Each year I learn more of His goodness and allness through demonstrating what I understand of the inspired Word of the Bible and the teachings of Christian Science.
As a child I suffered every spring from an illness that was never diagnosed. While I was sick, little or no food was retained and breathing was extremely difficult. But I loved God so deeply that more than wanting relief from the illness, I yearned to know Him better. Even as a child I was never interested in employing medical means for relief or healing.
During this illness, my family and members of our branch church were most kind. Often one of my parents stayed up through the night with me, singing hymns from the Christian Science Hymnal or talking with me of God. Sometimes a church member would come to our home and read to me from the Bible or from some Christian Science literature. A Christian Science practitioner was available day or night to talk with me and pray for me. There were many times of physical well-being and peacefulness that came from this love and prayer.
