Our family has been so blessed by an understanding of Christian Science that a written testimony is long overdue. Countless times I've felt such gratitude for the testimonies I've read in the periodicals that now I hope our experiences may encourage others. The following healing occurred several years ago.
One evening I began to experience severe pains in my left side and found myself blacking out. My husband immediately telephoned a Christian Science practitioner, who came at once. She sat beside me and read aloud the Lord's Prayer, with its spiritual interpretation from the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy (see pp. 16-17). I was able to hear and follow what she was reading, and found a lifeline in the words (p. 17),
"Thy will be done in earth, as it is
in heaven,
Enable us to know,—as in heaven, so
on earth,—God is omnipotent,
supreme."
