As soon as we see how the understanding of God we have gained through Christian Science has changed our lives —sometimes as dramatically as the way Christ Jesus changed the lives of those who came to him—we want to share. We want to attract people to Christian Science, to the branch Church of Christ, Scientist, we have joined, to the Sunday School, to the Reading Room, to the Bible, and Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, and to Christian Science lectures, so everyone can learn more about God and be healed, too.
We may be tempted for a moment by the big brass band approach, which suggests: "Do something out there. Wake up the people so they'll come!" But all the time an inner voice is saying: "Do something in here. Deepen your understanding of sonship with God so you will impart that which attracts." We can learn a lot from that quiet word "impart."
In June when the western azaleas are in bloom all over the mountains where I live, they impart a heavenly fragrance. It's their nature, and it's very attractive.
