The light of the Christ shines today through Christian Science as it shone of old through the life and works of Jesus. And as of old, the light of Christ, uncovering error that evil may be destroyed by Truth, is producing great chemicalization in human thought. Our Leader, Mrs. Eddy, lays the challenge before Christian Scientists of this age: "Never was there a more solemn and imperious call than God makes to us all, right here, for fervent devotion and an absolute consecration to the greatest and holiest of all causes. The hour is come. The great battle of Armageddon is upon us. The powers of evil are leagued together in secret conspiracy against the Lord and against His Christ, as expressed and operative in Christian Science." And she asks her followers, "Will you doff your lavender-kid zeal, and become real and consecrated warriors?"Miscellaneous Writings, p. 177.
What is it that we, as present-day warriors of the Christ, are being asked to do? Is it not to ensure that the light of Christ in Christian Science is not obscured, but burns on ever more brightly in full view of all humanity?
Jesus promised us a Comforter to reveal the fullness of the Christ he embodied. That Comforter finds expression for all humanity in divine Science. It is through Christian Science and its textbook, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mrs. Eddy, that the Comforter's healing embrace has been extended to all mankind. This Science of Christ is awakening humanity to man's spiritual identity as God's cherished offspring. And with that awakening, lives are being regenerated and hearts strengthened to recognize and feel the embrace of the good that is God, and to resist and prove the fallacy of all that is unlike Him.
