Healing ministry: the means to salvation

From the May 1984 issue of The Christian Science Journal

In Science and Health, Mary Baker Eddy writes, "The time for thinkers has come."Science and Health, p. vii. And at the end of this Preface she says that "she commits these pages to honest seekers for Truth."Ibid., p. xii.

Christian Science causes the thinker and the seeker of Truth to change the basis of his thought from matter to Spirit. The aim of this Science is the redemption of all mankind from its limitations and disharmonies, its wants and woes, caused by wrong, material thinking.

Salvation is the goal. Is healing of bodily ills important to reach a spiritual goal? Why do Christian Scientists place such emphasis on the healing ministry?
