"Resign with good grace ..."

From the February 1986 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Speaking of God's care for His creation, the Scriptures say, "For that he is strong in power: not one faileth."Isa. 40:26 .

"If 'not one faileth,' why do I have this lack of success in my life?" some might ask. If human endeavor is to be judged by material standards for success, that is a legitimate question. But Christian Science takes a different view.

What is heralded as success in a material world may or may not have much to do with spiritual progress—the only worthy goal for a God-oriented individual. Wealth, power, and position are the materialist's score cards. And these contrast sharply with the spiritual view of success, which includes spiritual sense, compassion, healing, and a wonderful sense of man's unity with his Maker.
