Enough intelligence for everyone

From the April 1986 issue of The Christian Science Journal

The infinitude of God is a fundamental teaching in Christian Science. God's infinite being is coincident with His omnipresence, omnipotence, eternality, and immeasurable good. God's infinitude also coincides with His omniscience, for God is Mind—the all-knowing, boundless, perfect intelligence.

Divine intelligence imparts the pure love of God. It constitutes creative power, nurturing power, and sustaining power. The intelligence that is Mind and Love naturally creates and maintains infinite ideas to express itself. The highest idea is man, God's spiritual reflection. And the spiritual idea, manifesting the perfect intelligence of creative Mind, identifies the real nature of you and me and everyone. Because man is actually the likeness of his Maker, every individual expression of Mind is always reflecting unlimited intelligence with precision and exactness.

In proportion as we understand this spiritual fact of our true being and trust in divine Mind's guidance, we'll discover that right here and now our capacity to manifest perfect, sinless intelligence expands. Wisdom, sound judgment, perspicacity, intuition, spontaneity—these and many other qualities find expression in our experience in a broadening yet always practical manner. We demonstrate that we have the useful, creative, productive thoughts we need in exactly the way and at the time that our lives require them. Through prayer in Christian Science we develop a humble willingness to accept our Father-Mind's leadings; and thus we can prove indisputably that there actually is enough intelligence for everyone. As Mrs. Eddy writes in Science and Health, the textbook of Christian Science, "Whatever is governed by God, is never for an instant deprived of the light and might of intelligence and Life."Science and Health, p. 215 .
