With immeasurable gratitude and joy for having been guided to Christian Science, I offer this testimony as proof of the fruitage that results from the study and practice of this teaching. The evidences of God's power in healing the difficulties that I, as well as my wife and our children, have had over many years are numerous. The experiences I include in this testimony illustrate in some measure how applying Christian Science transforms human life. The account that follows is of a healing that occurred when I accepted the call by The Mother Church to Christian Scientists throughout the world in December 1984: "To live for all mankind."
Two months before this I had a physical problem that was manifested in a great deal of swelling in my legs and feet. There was much discomfort and constant fever; I could barely put on my shoes, and I walked with difficulty. During this time, a Christian Scientist friend was faithfully helping me through prayer. At one point the condition appeared to worsen. It was at this time that the invitation came from The Mother Church to attend the worldwide videoconference on December 8, 1984.
