What better purpose can a branch Church of Christ, Scientist, have in its healing mission in the community than to fulfill the law of Love! When love overflows the hearts of all members of the church, it is irresistible. The love that expresses divine Love, God, is like a magnet that attracts to itself the seeker of Truth, as well as the person who needs healing, peace, or comfort. Spiritualized thought reflects the Love that assures success in healing.
Every student of Christian Science wants to demonstrate the Christianity that Jesus taught, thereby fulfilling his command "Heal the sick." Matt. 10:8. Daily study of the Holy Scriptures and Mrs. Eddy's writings leads one increasingly to know Deity as Father-Mother God, whose purpose is good for all His children, and to understand His law—the law of ever-present Love—that will free us from slavery to sin, sickness, and death. Anyone who studies this Science and practices it by following its rules can prove that divine Mind heals.
When the members of a church express such qualities as kindness, goodness, joy, tenderness, and understanding, everyone entering the church feels the atmosphere of Love that comforts and that heals the sick and the sinner. A sinner is not the man God created in His likeness. Love could not have created a being so totally opposite to His divine nature. If He had made such a being, He could not reasonably expect what He had created to exceed His original plan.
