Poems

Waiting for God who moves on the waters

From the June 1988 issue of The Christian Science Journal

I used to think nothing
was more important than
somewhere a poem
was waiting.

And then nothing was
as important as love,
and looking for it.

Now I have known
the healing of Love,
and I understand that
nothing moves
but God,
nothing is more than Love—
not even all of you
or what is me.

But we live in that Love,
which writes us
like the poem
that we are.
