Church Bulletin Board

From the July 1988 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Whether at a shopping mall, on a college campus, or in the foyer of a church, a bulletin board is a great place for people to share information. You can learn a lot about an active community from reading local bulletin boards. We hope you'll enjoy this bulletin board and feel encouraged to join in and share experiences.

I learned that the only Christian Science Society in a neighbouring city . . . had withdrawn their notice from the Journal. . . . After praying, I realised that it was my duty to support the society in any way I could. The three remaining members agreed to resume services if I would join them. . . .

We saw the whole city as our congregation. . . . Much prayer and consecration were required, and at times, the forces working against us seemed to be very aggressive. Apathy and indifference needed to be ruled out. But the members loved Christian Science and were determined to see the church grow. The city was growing and expanding rapidly, and we reasoned that the church should grow likewise.
