In Psalm 107 we read (verses 2, 14): "Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy.... He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and brake their bands in sunder." I have had proof of this in so many ways, particularly during a healing I had several years ago.
For a long period of time I had been very weak and so ill that I despaired of ever being well again. I did not go outside the house alone for fear of losing consciousness. I was able to eat only small amounts of very bland food, and I was losing the use of one leg, which had become very thin and unstable.
I searched the Scriptures together with Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. One day when I was studying the weekly Bible Lesson, this passage caught my attention (p. 261): "Fixing your gaze on the realities supernal, you will rise to the spiritual consciousness of being, even as the bird which has burst from the egg and preens its wings for a skyward flight."
