Should it be surprising to think of the Christian Science movement as still new? As someone once said, "A movement moves." Articles on the subject of Church and movement appear regularly in this section.

Not just another day

From the April 1989 issue of The Christian Science Journal

"They did it again! Put my favorite television special on a Wednesday night at eight. Maybe I'll just stay home from church this evening.

"I go every Sunday, and I faithfully study the Bible Lessons in the Christian Science Quarterly. But I can't see why every Wednesday night I should have to rush home from work, feed the family, and hurry off to church. It's just too much!"

One can always find reasons—if one chooses—for not attending the Wednesday testimony meetings at one's branch Church of Christ, Scientist: illness, bad weather, conflicting work or school activities, family obligations, crime in the area.
