A sure sign of healing

From the November 1990 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Spiritual healing isn't a thing of the past. It's happening today. Reports of such healings can be found in this magazine. At Wednesday meetings in Churches of Christ, Scientist, people tell of healings they have had through the study and application of Christian Science. And shortwave radio programs of The Herald of Christian Science, which give individual accounts of spiritual healing, are being broadcast throughout the world.

All of this is encouraging to us when we are relying on prayer for healing. But in times of illness or other discord, the heart yearns for specific signs of improvement. Feeling less discomfort or gaining more strength gives hope and encouragement. To have some indication that healing has begun and that health will be restored is an impetus to the recovery.

Sometimes, however, this sure sign of healing comes regardless of our physical condition. Something happens inside us that tells us that we are healed or that our condition is improving even though the outward situation may for a while seem the same.
