New appointments

From the September 1990 issue of The Christian Science Journal

The Christian Science Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Netty Douglass as Manager of The Christian Science Publishing Society. Effective June 4, she succeeded John H. Hoagland, Jr., who held this position for the past six and one half years.

Under Mr. Hoagland's leadership, the activities of the Publishing Society have grown in size, scope, and effectiveness in reaching an ever wider audience and bringing to the attention of all mankind the message of Christian Science. Mr. Hoagland has received international recognition for his preeminence in the field of multimedia global communication systems. He will now devote his full time to the role of Editor in Chief of Radio and Television Broadcasting, and as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Monitor Television, Inc., which is the home of the Church-owned television station in Boston, WQTV Channel 68.

The Board is grateful for Mr. Hoagland's unique leadership in developing the communications capacities of The Mother Church and the Publishing Society with unprecedented rapidity and excellence. His unselfish service has been marked by Christian care and humane concern as well as great innovation and efficiency.
