I am very grateful to be a third-generation Christian Scientist

From the September 1990 issue of The Christian Science Journal

I am very grateful to be a third-generation Christian Scientist. Healings that my younger sister and I experienced as children are truly the "family jewels." Now I am married with two children myself, but I look back on these early healings with great joy.

One day during my first or second year of school, my folks kept me home when I didn't feel well. That evening I was unable to move my legs. My mother and father prayed long into the night. They've told me how they read aloud inspiring passages from the Bible and Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. At four in the morning I walked into my parents' bedroom and said, "Daddy, I'm all healed, and I feel so fresh and clean." That was the end of the difficulty.

At another time during my elementary school days, my sister and I discovered some abandoned kittens and carted them home. Soon my body was covered with red rings. My mother prayed all evening, and the next day I was free from all symptoms of this condition.
