"The kingdom of God is not in word, but in power" (I Corinthians). This is true today, since Christian Science does in fact heal. It has been two decades since Christian Science came into my life through a wonderful physical healing. Since then I have had many healings through the study of the Bible Lessons and Mrs. Eddy's writings.
One Sunday morning, when I was to serve as Sunday School superintendent, my legs became stiff and I was in pain. I called a Christian Science practitioner, and she prayed for me immediately. I was able to go to church. However, these attacks continued to occur from time to time. With the practitioner's support I learned not to be afraid and then continued to pray on my own, led by the inspiration I received from the Bible and Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy.
One day my feet could not feel the ground. I was impelled to resist this evil suggestion of incapacity. The Apostle James tells us, "Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." I prayed earnestly before walking down several flights of stairs and proceeding very slowly. I knew this problem could be solved once and for all. I had had Christian Science treatment for it, and I knew that God's law of good cannot be reversed.
