Christian Science—this most precious gift— came into my life many years ago. It was introduced to my family by a visiting vacuum cleaner salesman. When he had finished explaining to me the advantages of having a vacuum cleaner in the home, I told him a little about our family.
The salesman asked me if I was acquainted with Christian Science. My answer was "No, but I have heard of it." He stated that Christian Science had been a great benefit to his family and that he felt its teachings would help us, too. He told me of a branch Church of Christ, Scientist, nearby and suggested that we think about enrolling our two sons in the Christian Science Sunday School.
My husband and I decided to follow the salesman's advice. We began to attend the church and enrolled the children in the Sunday School. Before long I became an active Christian Scientist. Our older son attended Sunday School until he reached the age of twenty, and he joined The Mother Church as a teenager. The younger one attended until he left home for college.
