I would like to share my very first experience of Christian Science healing. When I was a young mother with an infant son, I went to live with some relatives for a period of time. This couple were Christian Scientists. I knew nothing about this Science, but the love that was showered on me and my baby made me feel very secure and comforted.
Less than a year later an epidemic of so-called Spanish influenza reached our town. It seemed that every family was touched; neighbors had losses, and there was much sadness. My relatives fell ill and received Christian Science treatment through prayer from a Christian Science practitioner. Both husband and wife were perfectly healed in three days.
About a week later, however, my baby suddenly became very ill. He wouldn't eat his food and even refused liquids. My sister-in-law offered to call a doctor in the neighborhood, but I asked her whether the Christian Science practitioner who had helped them could take care of babies. She said that she certainly could, and we got in touch with her.
